Squash: Blue Hubbard: Blue Ballet

This smaller blue hubbard variety is a great winter squash with sweet, smooth, bright orange insides and tender dusty green-blue skin. Avg. size is 5 lbs. Many gardeners also plant hubbards as trap crops on the perimeter of the garden. Cucumber beetles and squash bugs are more attracted to the trap crop (where they are collected and killed by the gardener) and your other squashes have less damage. This works especially well if the trap crop is planted before the other 'valuable' plants, but isn't necessary.
