Blue Wild Indigo (Baptisia australis) -NEW!
Description
Native Perennial
We love this gorgeous legume-like native perennial. The leaves are reminiscent of peas you might grow in your veggie garden and the blue-purple flowers on spikes provide food for pollinators. At the end of the season, the flowers turn into dark pods which can be used in dry flower arrangements. We were lucky to have an established plant in our perennial garden when we moved to our home years ago and wow! This is such a phenomenal mature plant. It does take a while to become it’s happy shrub-like self, but we think the wait is worth it. This is one of the most exciting native perennials we are growing! It is slow growing and challenging to grow from seed, so we are excited to have had some success in 2024! Height: 4’, Sun: Full-Partial Sun, Soil: Medium-wet to medium, Plant Spacing: 2-3ft |
