Blue Wood Aster

Symphyotrichum cordifolium

This beautiful native aster is also known as Heart-leaved aster. Strong stems support this fall-bloomer. Clusters of pale blue flowers with yellowy-pink centers produce pollen and nectar for many insects as they head into the winter. Prefers part sun to part shade and medium soil. Height 2-4 feet.
