Our CSA model is a pre-boxed pick up once a week and runs for 15 weeks from June 25-October 1, 2020. The share is on the smaller side compared to many larger local CSAs.
All produce is grown on the farm from seed and although Daisy Hill does not have official organic certification, we follow all the same rules and procedures.
Our goal is that you receive just the right amount of produce in your share each week--not too much or too little- and we will try and adjust according to your feedback. There are over three hundred different types of plants grown at Daisy Hill, many of which you will get a taste of in your box!
As with any New England CSA, you can expect more greens at the beginning and more fruit and storage type crops near the end of the season.
Here is a sampling of the basic items you can look forward to:
Vegetables: spinach, lettuce, snap peas, pea shoots, beets, beet greens, cabbage, carrots, kale, swiss chard, radishes, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, beans, eggplants, tomatoes, potatoes and peppers, garlic, onions, leeks and occasional fruit such as grapes, raspberries and asian pears.
